What do you get when you take the contemplation of winter and mix it up with a creative non-fiction writing course?  A collection of stories based on personal experience with universal significance from a very wonderful group of rural writers.  I hadn’t taught this course for several years and working with these motivated writers reminded me how much I love teaching non-fiction, how valuable the dark of winter can be for this deep beautiful work, how much fun it is to laugh and cry and write together, and how much we can learn from each other in the world of words.   Thanks to WITC for sponsoring the class, the Saint Croix Falls Library for hosting it, and all those who participated.  Let’s do it again!
