Speaking

Let’s Connect!

Public speaking is a life-affirming experience of heart, mind, and spirit.

I present on subjects related to my publications: near-death and mystic experiences, care of the brain, learning, and creative writing. I speak to uplift and inspire the ephemeral spirit, develop deeper understanding, and warm listeners to positive long-lasting action.

I’ve spoken at statewide conferences, libraries, schools, and festivals from large intergenerational gatherings to small topic-focused groups. Samples below:

  • The Mystic Experience: Through the ages, across cultures, and yours, too, Saint Croix Unitarian Universalists, Dec. 1, 2024.
  • Home-based Learning Now and Then, University of Maryland, Graduate Program, Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership, April 10, 2018.
  • Be Kind: The Exciting Spiral of the Writing Process, Northwestern Wisconsin Writer’s Festival, Rice Lake, WI, July 2015
  • Keynote, The Civic Auditorium: Our Cultural and Historic Treasure, Civic Auditorium Centennial Committee Launch, 2013.
  • Kids and Nature: An essential connection for health, creativity, and the future of the planet, Polk County Energy Fair, Saint Croix Falls, WI, August 21, 2010.
  • Conference Keynote, The Organization of Virginia Homeschoolers, Richmond, VA, May 22-24, 2009.

Kathleen’s professional approach was welcoming and included many opportunities for participants to “pick her brain” regarding topics of specific interest. She’s a valuable resource.

Librarian, Saint Croix Falls,

Kathleen is kind, easy going and drew a large crowd. Her presentation and workshop were educational and fun for those who participated. I would certainly recommend Kathleen to those who need a knowledgeable presenter in the writing and publishing field.
